Résumé de la thèse

This research critically examines the spatial impacts of remittance economies of the International Migrant Worker engaged in guest worker programs. It will uncover key drivers of land speculation and environmental impacts of the remittance economy through the study of long-distance building processes and their entanglement with labour studies, technology, regulation, and multinational corporations. The scale of the spatial impacts will be explored in a transcalar manner, from building materials to urbanization patterns.
