Feminist Article Writing Workshop

This interdisciplinary workshop will support graduate students to move a concrete piece of academic writing towards publication. The purpose of the workshop will be to support graduate students in gender studies or related disciplines to understand the 'art' and mechanics of publishing: from how to develop an argument and contribution, how to bring together and integrate relevant literature, to identifying the most relevant journal and audience. Participants will be asked to submit an 'under construction' paper ahead of the workshop, and to come ready to discuss the work of others and workshop the components of article-writing in groups. We will discuss your draft, give you feedback on content and structure, and discuss collectively about gender studies journals, disciplinary journals, how to plan your publication, how to select where to submit it, and how to pitch you argument. The workshop will be held in English, French, or both according to participants’ needs. We also welcome papers to be published in francophone journals
