| Description |
This is a unique opportunity for PhD students working on topics related to the study of human reproduction to discuss their projects with experts in the field, each coming from a different discipline. Taking inspiration from last year's module "Repro Walk&Talk": Workshop with Sarah Franklin", this workshop will use unconventional spaces to allow students to interact with our experts and each other. The first part of the workshop will take place at Uni Dufour, Geneva, for brief presentations from our three experts. Then the students will divide into different groups and get a chance to interact more intimately with the experts, one after the other, in a "speed dating"-like format.
The main goal of this workshop is to allow participants to receive input and feedback from interdisciplinary experts and each other in an informal setting. Topics of discussion include, but are not limited to theoretical and methodological questions relating to studying reproduction, publication or career strategies, and more. In this workshop, we define reproduction in a broad sense, encompassing research relating to fertility, reproductive technologies, birth, parenting, and kinship.
Each participant will be asked to send a short (half-page) description of their project and formulate one concrete question they would like to discuss. On the day of the workshop, each participant will present their research project in 5 minutes ("elevator pitch") and pose the question they would like to have input on from the experts and the other participants.
The workshop will take place the day before the 2026 conference of SwissRepro in Geneva. Participants of the workshop are most welcome, but not required, to participate in the conference.
