Description | The aim of this two day residential workshop is to offer an opportunity for PhD candidates to work on a journal article in the domain of gender studies and/or feminist scholarship. This includes getting feedback on a draft, discussing ideas for potential articles with professors in order to orient writing strategies and feel confident to start / continue the writing process, and a space to ask any and all questions regarding the process of writing, editing and publishing a journal article.
The written materials on which you will work during the workshop can be at any stage of the process of article writing, from a first laying out of your ideas to a polished full draft. The materials for the article can be pulled from your thesis research materials (including both chapters from your thesis manuscript but also materials that you have gathered but that do not fit into your manuscript), or they can be pulled from other work (for example, materials from your master's thesis).
By inviting scholars who have published in a range of gender studies and feminist journals, the workshop aims to offer PhD candidates concrete and specific advice about journals and publishing issues within these domains.
COVID-19 related issues: we are currently hoping to be able to hold this workshop in an in-person format, but if necessary, we will move the workshop fully online and adapt the format accordingly. |
